Alan Titchmarsh gets a taste for exotic edibles…and snails!

The Edible Garden Show’s celebrity botanist James Wong and snail farm expert Helen Howard joined presenter and gardener Alan Titchmarsh on his popular daytime TV programme today (Monday 20 February). James described his passion for ‘exotic’ edibles and how he was taking his mission to tempt gardeners to become more adventurous in the crops they grow to the UK’s award-winning grow-your-own event at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire on March 16-18 where he is scheduled to give daily talks on ‘Incredible Edibles’ in the Experts Theatre. Plant a Dragon Fruit to celebrate Chinese New Year

It’s Chinese New Year on Monday (January 23) and we will be entering the Year of the Dragon – which as well as the fire breathing mythical creature brings images of the Dragon Fruit to mind. These particularly ugly fruit native to Central and South America are now cultivated in hot climates around the world. But along with other exotic fruit can be grown indoors even in Britain in a warm, airy room. TV star James Wong spices up The Edible Garden Show

BBC TV’s award-winning gardening presenter James Wong has signed up to The Edible Garden Show. The popular gardener who was a major success at this year’s launch event has signed a two-year deal with organisers to write an exclusive monthly column with gardening tips and recipes for The Edible Garden Show’s popular website and he will give a series of daily talks at the 2012 and 2013 shows.
